Hi and welcome.This is my first release, Hana to Hoshi (The Flower and The Star) chapter 6. Chapter 5 will be on its way soon if no one beats me to the punch. Please enjoy.
P.S. My translation might suck. It could really suck. I'm doing this for my own entertainment really. If you can point out mistakes, I'll correct them. You might want to read a better version if one comes out is what I'm really getting at.
Also, the site will look better when I get time to work on it.

ReplyDeleteYup, thanks. Like I said, I'm doing this for my own entertainment really. I just happened to be interested in this series and have the raw on hand. It's also why I posted that people should probably read a better translation when it comes out :).
DeleteMy translations are probably passable but far from the quality people usually expect. If anything, I'll just be looking through raws, picking easy ones, and doing those regardless of the status elsewhere.
I guess my plan right now is to just get the stuff out the door and have it replaced with better versions if/when they come. To facilitate that I"m actually going to be putting up any cleans/redraws I do for people to use if they want, and offer typesetting and such if there's a script laying around.
More people scanlating yuri is never a bad thing.
DeleteI got 300dpi editing scans for chapter 6-8 of this, but I guess you didn't get a copy of 6 seeing as you used the sleepycat public ones. Let me know if you need a copy of 7-8.
I haven't decided if I'm going to upload chapter 9 yet, but it will probably only be editing raws if I do, since chapter 7-8 on Yuri Project used my TL raws, something I'm not particularly happy about.
All the raws on Yuri Project should be for free use (you can find tank scans for chapter 5 of Hana to Hoshi there, down in the thread), so you could look through the projects (thread page on wiki for easy access) if you are looking for something else to do with raws available.
I got a bunch of other stuff not on there at the moment, most recently several one-shots from the Dolce anthology if you're interested (they were posted on /u/, but not many scanlators on there these days, with good reason).
This is all yuri related though, don't have anything to offer when it comes to anything but.
Hey, thanks for the offers. I have a tsubomi 13 raw sitting around so I think I'm ok for 5 anyway, and I think I found the ED raws on /u/ for 7 and 8. Also, I am indeed interested in one-shots. It'd be nice to know I'm not stepping on the toes of other groups too, release wise.
DeleteHowever I wouldn't want you to send me all this stuff without knowing my present plan. I'm trying to have one release every one or two weeks. So if that's too slow, by all means pass them off to people who will get them done. Also keep in mind I'm not a great translator >_>
And yes, I'm primarily interested in working on yuri stuff at the moment. I don't frequent /u/ much myself, I have a hard time adjusting the whole 4chan layout really.

If people are mad at me, they're mad at me. Nothing I'm doing is stopping them from doing their own, and probably better, releases. And hey, if it gets hosted somewhere, great... If not, well too bad. If someone's going to complain about me releasing something that has been stalled out for a month or two, well... Not to sound like a jerk, but I just really can't see myself caring too much.
I'm going to post most of it on Yuri Project, since I plan to take extended breaks and won't be around. No need to coordinate anything there.

Lack of translations. I've scanned everything there is so far. There's been interest, but until something is actually produced the status is the same as ever.

Tsubomi (where HG is serialized) is a bi-monthly magazine, and the latest one, Vol.18, came out on the 12th last month, so about 3 weeks ago. The reason the newest chapter haven't been scanlated, is that I haven't scanned it.
Chapter 17 just made me really upset, and this latest one didn't do much to improve things. Scanning something forces you to read it 4-5 times, so it's basically torture when it makes you upset.
It's supposedly ending in August though, which fits about right in terms of having enough pages for a third volume.
Eh...don't be bothered by what other people say. There's no such thing as "scanlators' rights" -- anybody should be able to scanlate whatever they want, whenever they want, as long as they aren't looking to profit from it. It's your hobby as much as anyone else's.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thank you for the release! I don't know Japanese so I can't comment on translation accuracy, but the editing was okay considering you were using mag raws (weak attempt at praise, I know). But...why chapter 6 before 5?
I'd pretty much given up on finding a GL worth reading until Hana to Hoshi came along, so more chapters from it are always welcome.
Yuri Project is doing chapters 5-8, and I was betting on them releasing chapter 5 before I finished chapter 6. Needless to say I ended up doing 6 faster than I thought :D. My version of 5 Should be out by Friday at the latest.
